Give to Lincoln Day 2018

On May 31, 2018 Lincoln TeamMates is participating in Give to Lincoln Day, the annual event that invites citizens to support local non-profits in the Lincoln and Lancaster County area. For every donation received through Give to Lincoln Day, Lincoln TeamMates will receive a proportional share of challenge match funds through the Lincoln Community Foundation. This means that even a modest donation receives an extra boost!

Throughout the month of May, all donations made to Lincoln TeamMates through our Give to Lincoln Portal below are eligible for up to $400,000 in available matching funds. Monthly contributors help the Program to keep going throughout the year, to become a monthly contributor go to our MightyCause page by clicking below.

You can donate online all month long.

If you are reading this, you probably already understand the role this program has in empowering our community’s youth, and the power of mentoring students. We welcome any and all monetary donations made during this drive, but, more than that, we need your help to get the word out during the month of May:

  • Tell your friends! Share your Story!
    • Go to our Give to Lincoln Day with TeamMates event page on Facebook.
    • Use Give to Lincoln profile frames and cover page art on your Facebook and Twitter sites.
    • Share your story of why YOU are a TeamMates Mentor or supporter and why all your friends and followers should support our good cause, too.
    • Don’t forget to use #GiveToLincoln and #GiveToLincolnTeamMates in your Give to Lincoln/TeamMates social media posts in May and check out the fun Give to Lincoln/TeamMates photo frame on the event page.
      • You can use the frame to create your own themed cover photo for the event..
    • Example Post:
      • I have been a mentor with TeamMates for [insert #] years. Throughout that time, I have seen mentoring’s power to help students reach their full potential first hand. Support our students! Support our future! #GiveToLincoln #GiveToLincolnTeamMates
    • Please remember not to share any images or personal information about your mentee.
  • Share the ways to give:
    • By credit card, online at www.givetolincoln.com. Search for Lincoln TeamMates in the “Find a Nonprofit” field. Credit card donations can be made starting May 1 at 12:00 a.m. through May 31 at 11:59 p.m. CST.
      • The fine print: All donations on www.givetolincoln.com are made to the Firespring Foundation, which forwards donations to the receiving organization. A processing fee is deducted from the donation. However, donors can opt pay the fee. Firespring Foundation will email receipts to online donors immediately following the transaction.
    • In person donations by cash or check on May 31
      • Checks are payable to Lincoln Community Foundation (write “TeamMates” in the memo.)
      • Deliver your donation to one of three locations:
      • The Lincoln Community Foundation at 215 Centennial Mall South, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
      • West Gate Bank, 6003 Old Cheney Road, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
      • Donation Station at Tower Square, 13th & P Streets, between 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
