Kickoff Celebration Inspires

110 mentors and guests gathered at Northeast High School on the evening of August 5, 2026 to kick off the new school year. Mentors had the chance to connect with one another and practice asking follow-up questions using a fun deck of cards with icebreaker questions. Special guest John Skretta, LPS Superintendent, was also present to say a few words of appreciation. A huge thank you to Arby’s for donating some delicious sandwiches for mentors to enjoy.

The highlight of the night included Sara and Tyrin, student speakers who reflected on their TeamMates experience. Both students are seniors at Northeast High School this year.

Mentors received a new resource called the Mentoring Activity Book on their way out the door and took home a yard sign to showcase their TeamMates pride. If you were unable to attend the event and are interested in either of these items, please call our office at 402-436-1990.
