2022 Carmen and Tony Messineo Community Involvement Award Winner: Robert and Sally Schmieding

The owners of the successful, 40-year-old Schmieding Concrete business, Bob and Sally believe in sharing their blessings. They tell us that their motto is “Kids Come First.”

For many years, they have contributed to the health of Lincoln youth by providing eyeglasses for any child in need. They often directly contact school counselors and social workers to learn about additional needs. They are happy to meet those needs by donating school supplies, feminine products, winter clothing, or whatever else students are lacking, a practice they would encourage anyone with the means to follow.

Bob and Sally are ardent supporters of The Lincoln Food Bank, People’s City Mission, and Friendship Home.

They are active in missions at Holy Savior Lutheran Church where Bob serves as an elder. They sponsor several young people through Compassion International, support Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Possibilities Africa, and Reaching the Unreached to train pastors in Africa.

Sally has served as a mentor in our program since 2017. In that time, 23 Lincoln TeamMates mentees have been awarded scholarships thanks to the Schmieding family.
