Youth Helping Youth: TeamMates Prepare Advice Cards for the HUB
The HUB helps young adults reach their education, employment, and personal goals. TeamMates of Lincoln partnered with the HUB for December’s community service project. Mentors and mentees created encouraging advice cards for those served by the organization.
The HUB offers several programs to help youth achieve their goals. The “Back on Track” program assists students at risk of falling behind on credits, those with poor attendance facing barriers that make coming to school challenging.
In addition, the HUB offers assistance to students hoping to complete their GED in an low-pressure environment flexible to their schedule. Students are able to start GED classes at any time for free. The HUB can also help financially assist any student in paying for the GED exam.
Finally, the HUB’s “Bridging Program” helps youth in the foster care system pursue a post-secondary education or career.
Over 250 tags were made by TeamMates and donated to the young adults clients of the HUB, creating a youth-helping-youth connection.
