Spreading Valentine’s to Seniors
In February, TeamMates matches in Lincoln teamed up with LifeLoop to spread love for Valentine’s Day. LifeLoop is a company that specializes in programming to keep senior living residences connected to their communities and their families. They are located in Omaha but serve communities around the country.
For the past 5 years, LifeLoop has put together the “Cupid Crew” with the goal of spreading love and combating feelings of isolation in older adults. They send Valentine’s cards all over the United States, including to residences in Lincoln, NE. TeamMates wanted to join in on this goal and together matches made over 200 cards, and counting!
TeamMates mentors and mentees decorated cards with colorful hearts and heartfelt messages. One card made by a 5th grade mentee read “When you feel like you’re losing everything remember that trees lose their leaves every year and they still stand tall and wait for better days to come.”
