To start of the night, Coach Osborne said a few words about the importance of TeamMates, especially now, during the pandemic.

We were so excited to have two of our senior students join us for the event to share more about their TeamMates experiences. Sam is a senior at East High School. He and his mentor Jim have been matched since 2015. Jimena is a senior at Northeast. She was matched with her current mentor, Sara, in 2014. We look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the years ahead!

2020 Keynote Speaker

In 2020, Recognition Event guests enjoyed a keynote address by Ann Chang, Artistic Director for the Lied Center for Performing Arts. Ann is an internationally renowned pianist, Fulbright Research Scholar specializing in Classic Performance Practice, the founder and director of the award-winning Meadowlark Music Festival, and a former TEDx and TEDwomen speaker. She shared a message about the importance of learning from mentors.

2019 Keynote Speaker

Our Keynote Speaker for the 2019 Recognition Event was Coach John Cook, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Women’s Volleyball Coach. Coach Cook shared messages that could relate to the mentors, students, and TeamMates supporters in attendance that evening. His main challenge to all was to “Dream Bigger” and continue pushing yourself for excellence. This can be accomplished when we work “with each other for each other,” which was also the theme for the 2018 Husker Women’s Volleyball team. Coach Cook shared inspiring stories that have helped him teach excellence among his teams through the years.
