TeamMates gives back to Capital Humane Society

In 2018, the Capital Humane Society cared for 6,200 lost and unwanted pets.  Not only are dogs and cats available at the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center, but the Capital Humane Society has also had chinchillas, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, pot bellied pigs, chickens, goats, iguanas, snakes, bearded dragons, roosters, horses, degu, birds, and many more available for adoption.

In February, TeamMates Mentors and Mentees partnered with the Capital Humane Society to provide toys for the dogs living in the shelter.  With over 100 toys donated, puppies and dogs are able to receive a toy when they enter the shelter, and take it with them once they are adopted.

While on campus to drop off donations, TeamMates Staff, Audrey, Stacey, and Jim, were able to meet with the Capital Humane Society staff to learn of their needs.  The highlight of the trip was meeting Sandy, a 4 year old golden retriever that is currently available for adoption. Like Sandy, many of the dogs at the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center will be excited when they are given one of the toys.
