Braided Paper Bookmarks

Supplies Needed:

  • 2 strips of paper (1/2″)
  • Glue

    Optional Tassel Supplies:

  • Hole Punch/Scissors
  • Threads of yarn

Instructions:

Step 1:  Start by gluing two 1/2” strips together at the top, forming a V-shape.

Step 2: Glue two more 1/2” strips inside the first strips, leaving a little square up top.

Step 3:  Take the right outside strip and fold it over to lay parallel along the other strips on the left.

Step 4:  Then, take the left outside strip and fold it over to lay parallel along the strip on the right.

Step 5:  Repeat this process until the entire book-mark is folded.

Step 6:  When you get to the bottom, glue the strips to form a point. Cut off excess.

Optional Tassel:

Step 1:  With a hole punch or scissors, punch a hole at one end of the bookmark.

Step 2:  Take two threads of yarn, fold them in half, then pull the loop through the hole.

Step 3:  Take the ends of the yarn and pull through the loop that you just pulled through the hole.

Then all that’s left is finding a good book to tuck your new braided paper bookmark! Enjoy!
