Counting our 2021 Give to Lincoln Blessings

Answer: When 150 people respond to a Give to Lincoln matching gift of $25,000!

Thanks to 151 gifts of all sizes, totaling $53,789, we more than doubled our Give to Lincoln Day 2020 gifts. More good news: 58 of them were new givers to Lincoln TeamMates this year. After the match from the Lincoln Community Foundation is added, we will have received nearly $57K, enough to fuel 134 TeamMates matches for the 2021-22 school year! 

Needless to say, we are humbled and grateful to the many who make Give to Lincoln Day such a celebration of giving in our community. With 456 nonprofits participating this year, people had 100’s of wonderful organizations to choose among. What a testament to Lincoln TeamMates’ impact in the community that we ended the day in 32nd place on the Give to Lincoln Day 2021 leaderboard. 

It takes gifts of all sizes to reach a milestone like that. In fact, a quarter of the proceeds came from gifts of $125 or less. Combining all our gifts makes Lincoln a place where nearly $7 million changes hands to make the struggles of others lighter and their dreams brighter. One more thing. Each participating organization will receive a proportional share of a very generous challenge match fund. You may wonder where those funds from the Lincoln Community Foundation will come from. A cohort of Lincoln businesses and individuals provided their own matching gifts totaling $500K before Give to Lincoln even started. You can find a list of them here.
