The majority of my work involves data processing, and I assist with recruiting as needed. My favorite part of my job is interacting with new applicants, current mentors, potential mentors, parents, and the public about mentoring.

Who was your mentor? What lessons they taught stuck with you?
My mother. She taught school for 43 years and showed me how to treat others in the same way I wanted to be treated. She also taught me the importance of confidentiality, which has been an integral part of both my professional and personal life.
What is one of your favorite memories of your own TeamMates match?
A favorite memory is when my mentee mentions books I brought to read when she was in elementary school in which the main characters were African-American girls. I continue to bring them now, even though she is in 6th grade. She is one of only a few students of color in her school. Seeing yourself represented makes a difference.
