Sugar skulls are used during Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. This Mexican holiday is observed November 1st and 2nd and is a joyful celebration of the lives of family and friends who have passed away. Families have many traditions during this time, like cooking good, traveling to burial grounds, hosting gatherings, and decorating graves. Sugar skulls are traditional art pieces used as symbols to remember a person who has passed.
- Download the skull template and trace onto a piece of paper.
