Flag Keychain

Supplies Needed:

  • 6 foot piece of bead lacing
  • 58 white pony beads
  • 40 red pony beads
  • 12 blue pony beads
  • Keychain
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Fold your 6 foot cord in half. Double knot your keychain in the
    middle of the cord.
  2. String your first line of beads through the left piece of cord.
    WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE BLUE WHITE BLUE WHITE
  3. Then take your right piece of cord and thread through the beads
    from the other end.
  4. Pull both pieces of cord to form the first row of your flag. Do not pull too tightly.
  5. String your second line of beads through the left piece of cord.
    WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED BLUE WHITE BLUE WHITE BLUE
  6. Repeat steps 3-4 to make your second row.
  7. Continue these steps with the pattern below. You will have 10 rows total.
    Line 3: WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE BLUE WHITE BLUE WHITE
    Line 4: WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED BLUE WHITE BLUE WHITE BLUE
    Line 5: WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE BLUE WHITE BLUE WHITE
    Line 6: WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE
    Line 7: WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE
    Line 8: WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE
    Line 9: WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE
    Line 10: WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE RED WHITE
  8. Tie a tight knot at the end of the cord. Make sure the knot is snug against the beads.
  9. Repeat the knot on both sides. Cut off any excess cord.
